Introducing Bike Library to TSSGFC
Bike Library is a Project being run by Dr Francesco Pilla, Full Professor of Smart and Sustainable Cities at UCD. We are delighted to have been selected by Dr Pilla to participate in a trial program on behalf of GAA Clubs in Ireland. We are one of only a very small few clubs selected.
The concept is simple:
Borrow a bike you are/are not perhaps considering buying (eg A cargo bike) but would like to trial first and after some couple of months months trial you return the bike and you can then decide to buy a bike and someone else gets to trial the bike. The idea is to win people over to consider cycling more as is it a more sustainable transport methodology. UCD are keen to see if this type of bike library test/learn model can influence bike take up rates and influence decisions to roll out more widely.
