It is great with sadness that I must relay the news that Maxi (Martin) McManamon died today.
As the first Chairman of Templeogue Synge Street GAA Club and the last Chairman of Synge Street Past Pupils Gaelic Football club, he holds a special place in the history of our GAA Club.
Maxi was more than a capable administrator, he was a serious footballer, who played senior club football into his forties. The apple did not fall far from the tree with his sons playing with distinction for St Judes and Dublin.
His musical talents were exceptional. Nobody could sing Jerusalem like Maxi. But more than football and music, Maxi was a family man.
Our deepest sympathies to Josie, Brendan, Kevin and Sean at this difficult time.
