Another Mini All Ireland successfully completed on Saturday in the VEC with many happy kids seen heading down Templeogue Road on Saturday evening.
There are many people who help make this the success it was including our sponsors, Capital Credit Union, The Two Sisters, Parts for Cars and Park Financial Planning and the local business that supported us with ads. With their support and the work of the many volunteers the whole week went off without a hitch that couldn’t be resolved.
Worthy of mention are the group that lead the different teams over the past 4-5 months to make it seem like it was smooth sailing for all.
Fran Diver, Ray Gilmartin, and Ian Kelleher got the registration system streamlined and set up a great platform with the usual vital contributions from Brian Kelly to make it flow.
Aine Dowling, Sinead Donoghue and Aoife Morrin have been huge contributors over the last few events and again their experience, knowledge and physical contributions on the commercial, operations and presentations have been immense. It was great to see so many new faces helping in these areas too. Thanks also to the men’s and women’s players that came down and gave out medals for us.
Niall Tempany and Keith Matthews did great work on the pitch logistics, coordinating their team ensuring the goals, nets, marquees and other parts were all in place on time. Kevin O’Donovan’s efforts made sure we were able to kick off on time on Day 1. Frank Mitchell and Colin Dunleavy and their team were a great help in making sure the health and safety needs were more than covered for the event. Ben Mannering again managed the entertainment and sounds including the pipe band for the parades on final day. Our 2 MCs Dave Broderick and Keith Matthews kept the information flowing with humour and enthusiasm.
Peter Glynn ensured we had the food and drink supplies to keep us all fed and watered. Eoin Casey and his team organised the events for final day including additional entertainment and a special shout out to the U13 girls who helped out with face painting.
Ryno Van Rensburgh, Ronan Devitt and Conan Doyle and the other photographers for their ability to capture all the special moments as memories for the future. We had over 30 volunteer pitch managers from our juvenile section over the week. Our referees also made a big contribution to the success of the matches. Also so many parents showed up when needed to provide additional support and manpower when needed. It really was a club effort.
Thanks also to An Garda Siochana for bringing down their mounted unit as well as helping with traffic management. Darren and Ken in the VEC for helping facilitate it all.
Lastly and by no means least a special mention to Deridre Devitt for her tireless work in many areas coordinating so many aspects of the event, not least creating once again a
fantastic brochure.
