Synge Street G.F.C was founded in 1945	Both clubs merged in 1999	Templeogue G.F.C formed in 1978
With Synge Street providing a healthy Adult section and Templeogue G.F.C  providing a healthy Juvenile section. This merger has proved a great success on all fronts, socially, in administration and in playing. It has provided a structure for juveniles to play Gaelic Football from Nursery level right up to Adult Football level and has encouraged adult members to remain involved at managerial/committee level on retirement from adult football
